Booking, payment and cancellation

Paying the deposit means you have read and accept the terms below.

This is a translation. If the two versions differ, the Romanian terms apply.

01Booking and payment

  • A booking is secured with a 50% deposit of the accommodation cost, paid by bank transfer within 48 hours of availability being confirmed. Without the deposit in this time, the booking is cancelled automatically.
  • The remaining 50% is paid on arrival (check-in), in cash or by card.

02Cancellation and changes

  • More than 14 days before arrival: the deposit is refunded in full, minus any bank fees.
  • Less than 14 days before arrival, or if you do not show up: the deposit is not refunded and is kept as a penalty for the room held.
  • Leaving early, after check-in, does not entitle you to a refund for the remaining nights.

03Severe weather and force majeure

  • If on the arrival date there is an orange or red weather warning from ANM (the Romanian weather service) for the Retezat Mountains, or Salvamont (mountain rescue) officially advises against mountain trails, you do not lose the deposit.
  • In these cases the money is not refunded, but the stay is rescheduled in full, as a voucher of the same value, for another available period within 6 months of the original booking.
  • Ordinary bad weather (rain, fog, moderate wind) without a safety warning does not entitle you to free cancellation or rescheduling.
